I started gaining weight when I was 13 years old. At that time, my family doctor said that if I did not lose weight, by the time I was 18 I would be over 200lbs. At 18 I was over 200lbs. By the time I was married – I had balooned to 380lbs – actually, I was MORE than 380lbs, I’m just too embarassed to say how much…

My yearly check-up with the doctor in 2002 yielded some pretty strong statements from the doctor.

He started the conversation (well, the lecture) with “Do you want to die?”.

He said that I was HIGH RISK for heart attack, stroke, Type 2 Diabetes. My blood work showed high cholesterol, I had high blood pressure. In fact, he wondered why I hadn’t had a stroke or heart attack yet. He said that my results were typical of a 60+ year old male.

Since that check-up, I’ve lost over 100lbs and have another 55lbs or so to go. My “goal” weight is 195lbs and I am slowly making progress to get here.

This website was created to share my education and provide a cozy place for individuals wanting to lose weight to share their stories.

The site has been around for more than 2 years now.
