Body Image And Self-Esteem

body image self esteemOver the next few days I’ll be presenting a series of posts on body image and self esteem.

Body image affects everyone – you can be too skinny, overweight/obese, too short, too tall.  There has been a lot of recent discussion about models that are too thin and young women trying to emulate the perfect image; so self-esteem affects everyone — men AND women.  If you are overweight or obese it may impact you even more.

The problem with a negative self image and low self esteem are obvious – they may lead to negative behaviors and possibly put you into depression which leads to even other health and mental issues.

The series of posts will be based on research that I’ve done, and information from various sites that talk about body image and self esteem.  Each post will include a list of resources to help you find more information.

Here is to your health!

  1. I think it is true that a positive body image can really provide a boost to self-confidence. We become more self aware of our strengths and can easily go about our tasks.
